Engineer 2 - Maintenance Supervisor

Engineer II - Maintenance Supervisor
Purpose
Responsible for corrective modification, improvement and regulatory requirements through all phases of mechanical design, equipment and material specifications, construction and inspection.
Core Accountabilities
Demonstrate and/or lead the commitment to the pursuit of achieving Zero Harm through behavioral based safety. (Ensure SAO, JSA, Take 5's, stretching, and all safety rules are being completed.)
Ensure compliance with applicable Company HSE Performance Standards, as well as applicable acts and regulations.
Live and foster the IPL Corporate Values.
Supports BEx initiatives and ensures participation from all areas of responsibility
Daily Support to Operations
Small MOC's, FI or Capex projects
Participates in PHA's
Receives close direction from Mgr and Senior Engineer (mentor)
Solve recurring maintenance problems through equipment and material selection, and mechanical design to include design for MOC including Root Cause Analysis.
Supervises specific projects involving contract employees and plant members as assigned to areas of responsibility.
Assists Process, Mechanical, Instrument and Electrical crews with technical support.
Maintains ASME and National Board requirements through role as QC Manager and directs other maintenance personnel in Code requirements. (Not a requirement at this time)
Prepares SA's and CEP requests and cost estimates, analyzes bids and quotations for equipment and projects, and prepares recommendations for selections.Reviews vendor drawings and outside engineering design data for approval.
Design requirements for maintenance constructions projects, including coordinating efforts of contractors working on a construction project.
Coordinates with Reliability Group and assists the Mechanical Integrity program as a part of the plant's Process Safety Management program and Risk Management Plan.
Participate in Process Hazard Analyses, Pre-Startup Safety Reviews, and Management of Change evaluations as required.
Keeps Maintenance Superintendent apprised of all maintenance activities.
Additional hours required based on business needs and plant outages.
May include on-call responsibilities.
Technical Competencies
Education:
Education: B. S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Experience:
4 + years in chemical plant or refinery maintenance, engineering projects, mechanical design, project supervision and economic analysis.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Experience in pressure vessel and piping code as well as Process Safety Management (PSM) Mechanical Integrity strongly preferred. Rotating equipment experience strongly preferred.
Computer: Intermediate computer skills including MS Office. CMMS/knowledge of SAP preferred. Knowledge of Autocad preferred.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
